DAILY NEWS: SPRING SESSION OF PARLIAMENT OPENS
Spring session of the State Great Khural (parliament) opened at 9.00 am on Monday, in the State House, with a participation of 71.4% of MPs. The Speaker Z.Enkhbold made the opening remarks. Present were also the Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag, representatives of political parties without seats at parliament, heads of the diplomatic missions of foreign countries in Mongolia.
The Speaker said that only 52 draft laws and amendments have been submitted to parliament for discussion out of 252 proposed by Standing committees, factions of parties and coalitions.
Only a few bills are directly dedicated to urgent problems and are ready for adoption, the Speaker noted and emphasized that it would mostly appropriate to discuss them according to their importance for the country’s development, economy and social life.
The Speaker also highlighted an importance of regularizing the national economic growth and keeping its intense, activating the construction and refining the legal environment for supporting economic sectors.
Special licenses for mineral exploration will be given to permitted lands only, after passing the draft amendment to the law on mineral resources, moreover, the environmental rehabilitation will be brought into a newer level by a way of approving principles of the responsible mining, the Speaker said.
