The 17th Annual Mongolian Studies Conference was held at the Embassy of Mongolia on February 14-15, 2025.
The XVII International Mongolian Studies Conference, held on February 14-15, 2025, at the Embassy of Mongolia in Washington, D.C., brought together over 30 scholars and researchers from esteemed institutions around the world.
The event featured sessions on diverse topics, including Mongolian history, philology, art, archaeology, traditional medicine, ethnology, climate and society.
The conference was co-organized by the Embassy of Mongolia and the Mongolian Cultural Center. In his opening remarks, Ambassador U. Batbayar emphasized the significant role of Mongolian studies in the United States, noting its rich history and heritage, and highlighted the importance of promoting Mongolia’s culture and history to the international community.
✅During the conference, the book ᠌”Ritual Landscape: Rock Art and Archaeology in the Mongolian Altai” was launched by researchers William Fitzhugh and Richard D.Kortum.
✅ Participants also had the opportunity to explore rare Mongolian-related books in the Asian Division of the Library of Congress.
