Speaker of Burmese House of Representatives to visit
The Speaker of the Burmese House of Representatives Mr Thura Shwe Mann will pay an official visit to Mongolia on April 12-15.
He has been invited by Z.Enkhbold, the Speaker of our parliament. In frames of the visit, the two Speakers will run official talks. Mr Mann will also receive Mongolia’s Premier and other officials. Furthermore, the parties will exchange views on intensifying the Mongolia-Myanmar relations and cooperation, on establishing ties between the legislative bodies, on introducing Mongolian democratic experience in Myanmar, and on collaborating at international arena.
This is the very first high-level visit paid by the Burmese side to Mongolia, and is the response to the Mongolian President’s visit to the country in 2013.
Myanmar is chairing the ASEAN this year, so the visit would be important for Mongolia in getting a support from Myanmar to forward its goals for becoming a partner of the ASEAN Talks and a participating state of the East Asia Summit (EAS).
