The Mongolia Society Call For Papers

The Mongolia Society will be meeting in conjunction with the 16th Annual conference of the Central Eurasian Studies Society (CESS) at George Washington University in Washington, DC, on Saturday, October 17, 2015.   The Mongolia Society meeting is free and open to the public.  We are placing a call for panel participants.  The Society expects to have four panels.  Topics will be focused on “25 Years of Mongolian Democracy,” and Mongolian mining economic issues.  Please submit your abstracts based on these subjects. Our meeting will conclude with an evening reception.

In order to participate on a Mongolia Society panel, you must be a member of The Mongolia Society and submit an abstract for consideration no later than August 1, 2015.  The abstract must contain the title of the paper and be no more than 300 words. If your abstract is accepted, you will have 20 minutes to present your paper, which will include five minutes of discussion.  To join the Society, please either contact the Society office or go to our website www.mongoliasociety.org

The CESS conference will be October 15-18, 2015.  If you wish to participate in the CESS conference too, CESS registration fees apply.  The CESS program will feature approximately 60 panels.  Several cultural events will be organized around their conference, including an exhibition of Central Asian Socialist Realism paintings in partnership with the GW Museum/Textile Museum, a cinema club, musical events, reception, and a Central Asian food fair.  For CESS conference details, please see:  http://www.centraleurasia.org/annual-meeting
